4 Things You Should Do Now If You Plan To Sell In the Spring
1-Start decluttering and depersonalizing your home. Decluttered rooms look bigger. And depersonalizing keeps the buyer’s focus on your home, not your stuff.
2-Make Repairs. Don’t cross your fingers and hope that a buyer won’t find that leaky roof, rotten siding or broken cabinet door. Home inspectors will find these issues and more. So fix what you know about now before a buyer forces you to hire a contractor to make repairs and charge you twice as much.
3-Touch up the interior paint. If the original paint is flat you can probably touch it up without it being obvious. If not you may need to repaint the entire wall. Choose popular colors that don’t stand out too much. Beige is pretty safe. Greys are also popular these days. Choose a color that works with the carpets and flooring.
4-Work on curb appeal. If the front door, shutters or mailbox need repainting, now is the time to do it. Trim the bushes as low as possible without trimming off all of the leaves. Plant flowers that will bloom in the Spring.
